Q: What do you expect from the next match? (against
Amélie Mauresmo)
R: She has a completely different game. She is very
talented, she is young, she is upcoming and she has
nothing to lose when she plays me. I think it is going
to be a very difficult match.
Interview with Dominique van Roost (Oct-15-1998)
after beating Amélie Mauresmo 6:3 6:4
Q: About the match:
R: When I broke her in the first set it was very important,
because she was serving very well and I was struggling
for my serve. In the second set I was a little bit
more tired than in the first set, but she was not
serving as well. I was trying not to get nervous.
I was very patient until the moment that I had the
opportunity and then I took it. That's why probably
today I won the match.
Q: You've had a lot of matches in the last few weeks,
have you started to feel generally tired?
R: Yes, I think my body is starting to feel a little
bit more tired. I've been playing not too many matches
but very hard matches, so I think my body is starting
to tell me that it's time for a rest. But I'm still
here, so I'll continue until I lose and then probably
I'm going to rest a little bit.
