A new meeting between Lindsay Davenport and Amélie
Mauresmo for a revenge match of the half final
of the Australian Open, where the french player
had won will not happen. Mauresmo had been eliminated
sunday in the 3rd round at Key Biscayne, where
she was ranked 14, by the russian Elena Likhotseva
4-6, 7-6 (7/5), 6-1.

Mauresmo, serving badly, had win the first set
6-4. The russian, ranked 23 in the world, take
her distance at 3-1 in the second set, but Mauresmo
came back. It was a though game. The russian won
the second set by winning the tie break 7/5. The
3rd set was a formality win 6-1 for the russian.
"I take it hard moraly, i was exusted ",
explained Mauresmo, who fighted hard but wasn't
able to get out of the regularity imposed by her
opponent. " i don't know why, i was missing
of strenght. I had no arm, no leg, not anything
worked. "
A match to forget fast for Mauresmo, who found
a small consolation by remarqueing that she almost
won the match by "playing at 50% of my possibility".
